PM box full. Cannot send anymore." Empty Folder" option question

Hello,
I am getting a message that I have used all of my 1000 PM's and I need to delete some to make space.
I see the "Empty Folder" option for messages, But don't want to lose some of my better references/ contact's info given messages.
When I hit the "Empty Folder" selection will it give me the option to get rid of what I want and keep those I want to keep?

You should be able to click on the messages individually to pick and choose what to save and what to delete.

Remember to delete sent messages as well. They take up space in your inbox too. It took me far too long to figure that out!

NO !!
Just go to your Private messages in box or sent items box and at the
far right of each message, you will see a little box. Just click on the
boxes of the PMs you want to delete, then go to the bottom of the page to
hit the delete button.

Just go to your Private messages in box or sent items box and at the
far right of each message, you will see a little box. Just click on the
boxes of the PMs you want to delete, then go to the bottom of the page to
hit the delete button.

This will work.

I got rid of the not so important ones and kept the good one, I got it down to 578 messages.
