Hi Guys, I think we all have come across sites we have bookmarked in the past only to discover that it has now dissappeared and the info appears lost. Very frustrating.

However, if you are lucky, the site might have been archived and can be found again even if it has been taken down.

    Go to here:

    Internet Archive: Wayback Machine

Then just type in the web address you were looking for.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Thanks Ade
I did not know this could be done. Besides being a very highly knowledgable about military items you are a computer whiz also.

I don't know about that Steve..

I only really discovered this the other week, but finally put it in practise last night as forum member was after info on the US M38 tankers helmet. I had posted a good link about them in the past on the forum, which had turned out to be dead. I was miffed about that, so I tried the Archive site and found it again.

Here is the original but now dead link:

    http://www.752ndtank.com/tankhelmet.html

Now copy it into the archive site:

    Internet Archive: Wayback Machine

and hey presto! It will work:

WWII Tank Helmet M-1938 & Related Equipment

    Cheers, Ade.
