Description: German Deep Sea Diver’s Knife by J. A. Henckels A very rare find indeed. Ideal for the Kriegsmarine Collector!

The entire hilt and scabbard are made of solid brass having a rich matching patina. Totally original! The grip hilt has tapered/turned sections with smooth highlights being larger at the pommel and narrower at the guard. The handle flairs out at the guard to form the crossguard. The butt plate is threaded for tightly screwing it into the scabbard thereby making the knife waterproof. The blade is the slab style displaying some wear/age or smudging. The edge, spine and tip are still in great shape and very sharp. The blade is etched with the J. A. Henckels trademark comprised of twins posing in an Egyptian-like manner. Beneath is the company name and directly below is the company location “J.A. Henckels / Solingen”. The scabbard is a tube style having a threaded band on the inside for screwing the hilt/blade into the scabbard. It remains perfectly straight! This is a RARE original and is a MUST for a serious Navy collector.
