Small update:
The ring is now insured and in a nice little box at the bank, where it will sit and wait for future generations Doorborn's

i personally think a better way to say thanks to all those who commented on this thread earlier might have been to describe further what you managed to discover about the ring's provenance? No?

One thing that confuses me though, the Deutsches Bundesarchiv state that that photo of Göring was taken in August 1932, and yet the one shown is signed in October 1931.

This appears problematical...unless the attributed date of August 1932 is incorrect at the Bundsarchiv.

I love the scultptural quality of the photographers lighting technique, very skillful.
