Gegen Engelland Ring - Thoughts?

Hello all, I've come across this luftwaffe(?) ring and would like everyone's thoughts on it Although it's seen better days, it looks like an original piece (material is Brass with a silver coloured finish?). Shouldn't these rings have a text inside the face that reads the equivalent of 'patent pending'? Just thought I'd run it past the experts on here! Cheers guys, skip01.

Rather rare pattern. And from this pics for me an original period one.

Originals of this pattern are allways brass with silver plating.
I have this pattern too in a nearly as new condition.

Only a few ring patterns have the "Ges. Gesch."...."Gesetzlich Geschützt" (protected by law or pat. pending).
This one not. From the row of battle of britain rings i know in moment only one pattern with this inscripition.

Agreed-an Extremely heavily faked pattern and one of the oldest of the copies, but this one looks to be an actual period piece. Nice to see a real one!
