If moderators think it is a good idea, we can make a special thread about all known fake W-SS and other III Reich rings. It will be a great help for the new collectors.

I think a thread would be an Excellent idea, but that would be one HUGE list indeed! And more coming all the time. The problem that I can see, is when they take a Known genuine ring and begin imitating it-Then it gets considerably more difficult. I suppose it comes down to do you want Types of outright fakes or are you looking as to how to detect a very well made Fraudulent rings of genuine rings? A quick trip about the internet will immediately bring up countless dozens of designs, and then you have the question-were Any of these things based on Real ones? And it doesn't help much when they artificially Age them either. Ebay alone would be a rich mine for garbage rings and their types, countries of origins, etc. Perhaps several sub-categories in the thread? Known imitations- fantasies- makers marks and locations of marks(both known genuine and known fraudulent)-name and/or date engraved- SS Honor rings and their close and not so close varieties.... Hmm! This could be a very Involved project!

Personally I believe it would be time poorly spent as the vast majority of people who come onto this forum with a question about their SS ring or skull ring never stick around after it's been given the . This appears to be the case with rings and the people who own them more than any other type of collecting on this forum. One or two posts and they're gone, never to return. Why waste the time on them?

    Cynical, Ned.

Sad, but true, Ned....there seems to be very few ring "specialist collectors" out there-just the passing "Nazi lovers" or the curious.
