    Here is what I believe to be an original campaign ring. Possibly field made and showing a fair bit of wear perhaps suggesting the owner survived the conflict and continued wearing it.
    Having read a previous thread about rings splitting across the band it is interesting to note the band join on this ring is behind the applied lozenge.

    Yes, typical local handwork.
    Similar rings are often seen.
    Nice looking one.

    The only thing that puts doubt in my mind is i saw very similar rings for sale at a Krakow Flea market last week!...

    It tests silver but has no markings. I bought this a while back from a reputable German dealer.

    @ Gunny..The wear is pretty consistent to being worn over a long period of time and nothing like the modern artificially aged ones that pop up everywhere. Did you get any photos of the rings you came across in Krakow? Be good for future reference.
