Can you explain why it's a terrible fake ?? if it is why recommend that it be checked out by a specialist ?
That is a darn good question Paul!!! And I, too, don't think we can't say it's without a doubt a fake. I see many differences, but it could be do impart to wear(although I original though the known original had even more wear) and or because the picture quality.
It also could be a copy, but again, I don't think anyone can say that and be 100% positive until we receive some better photographs.

I just found it strange the known original has more wear, yet still displaces a higher quality of detail. I'm excited to see new images, and thank you for taking the time to take them.

Ok, derwood58 - your camera is sure not the best.
The pics are better, but not as good they should be.
Good message - i still can`t see any faults.
Your hallmarks should look like this ones:

    Oh, forgot to explain the hallmarks;
"835" is the silver Content 835/1000
"F*" makers mark of the Frey Company, Pforzheim, Germany
last ist a latin "Ln" in a half circle-the so called Laurin-mark - stands for german jewelry in a high level quality made-was used from 1934 to about end of 30ies.

Thank's alot odal!!! here are a few more shots,A little clearer...As you will see the hallmarks are NOT the same,Mine has 835 on one side and something i CANNOT make out, almost looks scratched out.but it is NOT the same as hallmarks you showed because i could make those out easly w/one of my many loops.I'm 90%+ sure its right,I was shown many yrs.ago by an elderly neighbor who was a longtime WW2 collector,When i showed him my ring(i was about 13yrs. now 55)He pulled one out and showed me the bottom"lip" on his...Same as mine.Different maker maybe?
I appreciate all your help and thank you for NOT slamming my ring as most do!

P.S. Thats about or is the best my camera will do,When i get a new one i'll post other ring(s) i have...for your opinion!

    Hi!
So sorry, but things now turn bad for your ring.

Your hallmark is probably possible - late rings where sometimes without makers mark and without the Laurin mark. Sometimes even without content mark.
But the backsite of your ring tells the truth about. Although the pic is again not the best there are at least 2 good to see fault lines from casting.
Sure signs that this a cast ring.
Period originals were to 100 % die struck.
So sorry in this case, but this ring is for me with this pics a well made cast fake of this ring of the Frey company.
There were no other manufaturers of this pattern and for sure no cast ones.
It is hard in this times with rings - in my opinion more than 95 % of the rings on the market are fakes or fantasy.
As i know, making fakes started no much years after war.
For more explaining 2 quick shots.
First your pic with red lines to show the faults, second 2 backs of original rings.

    My pleasure.
Sorry, but sometimes the truth hurts - for sure you are not allone in buying a fake ring - in my opinion more than 90 % of the rings around are fakes and fantasy.
There is a lot of money to earn with.
In buying a ring always forget the stories (ground dug, family, bla, bla, bla...), look only on the item - it tells always the truth.
