Can You please post some more detailed pictures? About the aluminium rings with EK symbol and the WWI dates (1914-1915, 1915-1917 etc etc) - as far I know all these are WWI battlefield made rings. I do not belive any silversmith produced such things because it just takes too much time. As I collect trench art, these rings have much more value than an average factory made "totenkopfring" but it is only my opinion and the prices of factory made rings are much higher. Usually these aluminium rings were made from the shot down airplane parts or mess tins.

The Vaterlands Dank ring in a very popular fake in Germany for at least last 5 years or so. It is hard to say, if Your ring is original or not. As these fake rings usually do not cost much, quality is also often very poor. As far I see from the picture, it is not at least a casted metal fake.

All ebay.de and other German auction houses are full of very poor quality casted metal rings and there are at least 10-15 designs I have not ever seen before. Seems somebody ordered them from China or from a local silversmith. Anyway - the quality is so bad that it can not fool almost anybody - blurry details, unknown material etc.

Hi guys and thanks for the interest. I will post detailed pics of every ring in this thread. All of thenrings came from Klaus Butschek except for the left one, first row which is a relic. It has a maker's mark and it's silver. It was found outside Budapest, at the breakthrough point of the Wehrmacht.

This one is really exceptional. Very heavy, marked 1942 on the inside rim and has the initials of the original owner left (L) and right (W) of the Krim Peninsula.

And last but not least the aluminum ring. It cost me 40 euros so i am surprised that fakers have an interest in these patriotic rings.
