I have the final ring that you show'd - the alum. with the maltese cross. Mine was given to me by my flight instructor for bravery in a situation on my first cross country. My ring is copper type material with a larger cross on the face with no date. It was given to my instructor who's father had shot down a German Biplane so the storey goes over France in WWI.

Hi docf, it sounds like a very different ring then.
The one in post number 20 is made of aluminum and it's probably a trench art piece with an iron cross in front.
Can you post a picture of your ring?

Don here are some of my rings, The TKR, 2 rings from Demjaynsk battle-2nd Panzer SS. The dark Totenkopf was a burial complete with coin from the site, one a capture Totenkopf ,2 WWI rings- one with Maltese cross taken from a downed German pilot over France, finally a steel ring given to the populace for donation of gold or silver for the war effort. Forgot the Nazi Totenkopf with the oak leaves that I was told was SS Calvary but ?

    Fakes not fake
Both skulls in the shown picture were fakes.
I didn't ask for a refund but chose to pay a bit more in order to get the LW beauty instead.

Nice rings mate. They deserve their own thread. Especially the Ehrenring.
