according to which he sold it, it was purchased in Germany in the 50s.
This was combined with lots of other things and put in a box.

a little too perfect to be so old?

These rings are HEAVILY faked. You can go on ebay at almost anytime and there are multiple for sale. Real honor rings are not common and when they are real they command a premium price. I could not give you a 100% yes or no, but I lean heavily towards it being fake. The condition, as well as the rarity of these honor rings makes people always skeptical, especially since 99% of the ones we see are in fact fakes.

Sorry this is a poor fake. Nothing like an original ring if you compare them. The skull is way oversized and not the correct design.

A Glaringly fake ring. Sorry....but once again, buy the item and not the story. A quick comparison to any one of many known genuine examples right here on this site will Immediately show this. This is a Very bad fake-the skull alone is a one looker.
