SS ring: information needed

Dear all, Recently I came across this ring. I kindly ask for your opinion about this ring. It seems a bit home made and I have not been able to find anything like this on the web. Is it authentic, if yes which unit would have worn it?

Any information will be much appreciated.

Photos didn't attach; see if you can fix that. Don't put your hopes up. Fakes and reproductions are VERY common, so common that most people simply avoid rings altogether because for every real ring, there are a thousand fakes.

EDIT: Welcome to the forum by the way! Also, since you say SS ring, unless it's a honor ring, then it's fake. And even if it is a honor ring, chances are it's fake.

Ps, post is a bit messed coulf not post from laptop because the submission kept timing out. Used my iphone but had trouble uploading the pics. Hope someone can fix this,
