Can I hear your opinions on this SS ring
Looks like a nice one with nice maker mark and 800

Could be a private purchase piece but who could tell? Details look a little hokey, perhaps the buyer was short of coin and haggled a deal?
As with Glenn, I also find the detail work poor and not what I would expect on a period ring. I will move this thread to the ring forum.

LIFE'S LOSERS NEVER LEARN FROM THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS.
Actually, I've seen far more absurd and ugly "SS" rings. This one has the same kinds of construction as do many of the "rune" rings. About all that would make me hesitate on this one is that is Seems to be showing brass beneath the silver?? It could possibly be simply tarnish, but if not, to be marked 800 and exhibit brassing would be the kiss of death. Apart from that, I'm not seeing much of anything wrong with it. I would be fine with this one in my collection.

I am ring collector for long years, but i don`t had this pattern every in hands.
I have seen it on pics, most in collections from eastern europe.
From the hallmarks it should be made in germany.
I am real not sure what shall i think about.
A good advice to be period or not could be the enamel.
On period rings this black enamel is very glasy and transparent. The black looking colour
comes from the thickness of the enamel.
Sorry my not so good english.
Who is the seller Ado? What (if anything) are they saying about this ring?
From the appearance of the enamel, it seems to be a dug piece.
