Now from what I know, these were given out to SS members, but then Himmler ordered them to be returned, but are there some out there that are legit, and how much would they run for.
Or is this story just a bunch of crap as well.

The rings were only returned upon death of the owner. "Given out" is really the wrong phrase; they were an award.
Originals are out there, but be ultra careful in buying one. Get expert advice. Expect to pay in the region of £5000. But the price will vary upon condition, ring type, name of holder etc...

You can not go wrong with contacting Don Boyle. He has spent his adult lifetime studying these rings and is an honest and trustworth man.
