Westwall ring HAU RUCK

“Hau Ruck Der Westwall Steht” means free translated : “ Stand Back the Westwall Stands”.

This slogan are the words:
-on this ring and also of a song of the Westwall workers
-in a pocket-book from 1939 , title: “Hau Ruck der Westwall Steht : A foreman writes a cranky book about the men with spade and chop ”. A bit humoristic book ( see last picture) .

I think the ring is made of a kind of alumimium and has a seam.
There was a black paint/enamel between the letters , still present partly.

Hello,
some additional information to the translation.

"Hau Ruck" is difficult to translate, but "Stand back" doesent really do the job. "Hau ruck" is rather an exclamation that you do when you heave something.
Could be compared to the english "Heave-ho".
