    Hello.
Here I want to show you some of my early plough and hammer 1918-22 headgear stars.

More or less standard stars made approximately according to order NK №594 of July 29, 1918.

We can see that very often these stars had poor quality so the clasps were often lost. That's why many stars have holes pierced in purpose of attaching to headgear by sewing them.

3 common types of fixation on headgear:

    1. Factory produced and the rarest to be preserved
    2. Holes pierced after losing factory produced clasp
    3. Hand-made clasp run through pierced holes.

    This one is especially intersting.
It has plough and hammer depicted specularly.
This kind of a mistake can be seen very rarely.

I will also be very happy if other forum members will show their earliest RKKA stars

    Dear StB,
what a wonderful topic and what a great selection of stars!
I've been on the hunt for as many RKKA stars as I could lay my eyes on - I've come to 120+ different variations, but obviously there's no end in sight (and that's the beauty of this hunt, it never ceases to surprise me!).
Love the "wrong" one with the skewed hammer and plough.

Allow me first to show you mine:

The only really notable one is the first - no rust, a good deal of red paint left and miraculously intact prongs!

As for the last star you displayed, I have a reference from another forum that classified it as "chinese" national units of the RKKA (which I suppose may have included red army formations in and around Mondolia). No idea whether this assumption can be trusted though..

Apologies for ressurecting an old thread, but I came across this when I was looking for similar examples to the early 1918 cap stars in my collection.

I have a star which is slightly smaller than the other designs - I would be interested to know whether other collectors have seen one like this before.

    Many thanks,

    Simon
