German cap star?

Article about: I have recently procured this. It appears to be exactly like - or very similar to Dom's, except for the patina. Note that the attaching prongs are off-centered also. It was a bit soiled upon

    I have recently procured this. It appears to be exactly like - or very similar to Dom's, except for the patina. Note that the attaching prongs are off-centered also.

    It was a bit soiled upon receipt, but a bit of soap and water and some thumb rubbing, it cleaned up very well - almost to the point of appearing newly made.

    Which makes me think... Is it an obscure reproduction of which the others shown were aged up to appear old? Or a mint, well stored example of an original type of star? - which seems to be of high quality German made/German inspired craftsmanship...

    obviously this is the same as mine, I remember having finding this star in a lot of badge in Germany .

    I have just noticed that the prongs on mine seem as wide as yours, but are longer - Yours may have been trimmed as I have seen on other stars? Aleks' are thinner, but long as, or even longer than mine...
    .

    ...and I am still wondering why the hammer & sickle is in the position it is - in relation to the arms projection in comparison to all the other star-cockardes I have seen. The overall shape of the star itself (sort of a "caricature", if I may say so) is different than normal also. However, I have seen it in photos - on signs, documents, and banners...
