M35/41 Gymnasterka
Hello.
I'm interested in adding a M35 soldier's Gymnasterka to my collection.
The only (costly) examples I can find are the M35/41 economy versions (exposed buttons and simple cuffs). I can't find any good wartime photographic references.
Would anyone be kind enough to explain what I should be looking out for?!
This is an example I found:
Summer tunic of a soldier of the red army. 1941, simplified tailoring (USSR) buy for 531$ in military antiques Zemlyanka

As far as I know ( according to book RED ARMY SOLDIER OF II WW ) this kind of tunic with exposed buttons and no reinforcment on sleeves is called M29 ( pre cursor of M35 ).
The economy tunic you are writing about is shown in lower section on the same page as the one in link.

Thanks for your response Litzmannstadt.
So in essence, the economy M35 is an M29?
Does anyone have any images of either Gymnasterka being worn during the War?
