That is very interesting, does this apply to the teleogrieka as well? The Winter War seemed (to me) to be all Shinels with the quilted clothing being seen first in the defence of Moscow.

The padded uniform was used in the finnish war, and was used under the overcoat...

Has anyone ever seen British made versions of the vatni sharivaris?

Reason being, I have bought a pair at the weekend. Pics to be done later.

    Cheers, Ade.

Clearly British made with a conventional British makers label. Dated 1942 and made by "M Belmont & Co". But the cut appears to be Soviet in design and detail.

Lend - Lease made? This is my thought. An experienced fellow collector from our re-enactment group has seen other examples, but all dated 1945.

The British Army did not wear this design to the very best of my knowledge and they are not listed in the Mountain Troopers or on the Cold Weather clothing list.

They do not have the WD ink inspection stamps either.

    Cheers, Ade.
