    Yes, it is brass plated steel and 24MM. I also have one of the same (somewhere) that is non-magnetic.

    Yes, it is. If I recall correctly, our Russian colleagues classify them as "simplified" - Order of January 1942.

    Beautiful stars Richie, as usual.

    I have in my collection one star which looks exactly like the first non-magnetic one you posted. I was actually unsure wether it was Soviet or Soviet-made for other armed forces (Yugoslav, Bulgarian etc).

    I attach here a photo of two of my German KPD stars. Together with them are three Reichsbanner cockades (the militant anti-nazi organization of the SPD - beautifully realized).
