    Default Russian submariners leather coat?

OK I know nothing about this except I was given it about 8 years ago by a guy I knew, he said his grandfather got it off a Russian submariner at the end of WW2,
I had/have my doubts as it never looks to have been issued? and it has no markings in it save a 2 near the collar.
It is a very dark brown and very heavy though also very warm, I wore it one new years at a 1970's fancy dress night and it was great thing to be wearing at least on the pub to pub walks!
If anything it looks more German to me?

Chhers Ade, no I didn't think so myself but I am sure it is government issue of some description and meant for cold weather, just a shame there are no stamps other than the 2, guessing it could have been issued by any 'East' European country including Germany?
