Soviet cap star circa 1947/1948
I think this is a cap/visor star. It was neat and quite cheap, so I had to get one. I believe this is the type that could have been made late WW2 or perhaps shortly after. Quite common I believe, but still a fun little piece IMO for those who like Soviet stuff. Made of steel coated in brass, magnetic.
This one dates from the late 1940's.
The M36 badges were two part.
Still a nice original badge.

Yes, 36 is the year. This is of course "collector speak" and not an official classification from the period. This one is not a 36.
This type seems to have been introduced around 1947/1948.

I've updated the title for more accurate dating then.
This particular model was introduced in the early/mid 1950s, the exact year escapes me, and was used until 1964. The 1947 model star has similar arms to the 1936 and 1939 models.
