Looks like this is the week of the star

This one is on a pilotka dated 44 brought home by a French POW liberated by the Red Army.

This is the second example of this model that I have the opportunity to see, the other was sold by a Russian merchant who had as a star of the 20s if I remember well.

Manufacturing somewhat precarious, the star is painted .

At my home, it is always the "week of the star"...

I really need to gather up all the star threads/posts and condense them.

Nice star by the way. I believe I have shown a larger version of it in the past.

    Good info ; )

    Thanks Dom.

Good info. I guess this may still be after 41?

What about this one? The Grey colour is unusual. Could it be for Navy or Tank's man?

    In advance thank you

    Bruno

I recall reading somewhere long past that these tin stars were painted from captured stocks of German paint - pure conjecture in my opinion.
