What are the ink stamped markings on the triangular shaped insert seen in the back of the trousers?

I think they are most likely postwar to be honest. They lack the high waist.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Thank You Adrian.
I cannot tell the markings cause I do not have the trousers in my hands.

Wait for Mike or Dim - To me they are the authority on this forum concerning these...

I would pass on these if looking for wartime trousers. I do not like the low waist as Ade has pointed out. Th material is very common on post war wool trousers as well.

As for the rest of the lot... the binoculars are decent, but the strap is replaced. I see metal hardware on the Meshok. Not the kiss of death, but greatly increased the odds that it is a post war version.

I would pass on this lot.

Thank You Wesley`s Dad. I will pass the trousers.
Meshok is 1943 dated and the leather case should also be period I think.

Despite my reservations about the metal fitted Meshok, after seeing this close up I kind of like it. The binoculars are wartime, but would need more photos to determine if they were in a condition that would merit adding them to a collection. If the price was fair, It might be worth it just to get the Meshok.

Thanks Richie. I will get into that.

So war time meshoks are usually w/o hardware? Sorry I have not done my homework on this case.

    Regards
    K.
