Default Victory Parade Uniforms - PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    Hi,

I am designing a play called The Promise. The second act is set in 1946 in Leningrad.
I desperately need to find some reference images for the Victory Parade/Dress Uniforms of a Guards Captain, and a Private (Infantry)

I have been searching the internet, books, state libraries, but I am constantly finding conflicting information.
If anybody could provide me with visual reference of these uniforms, or even a description of the colour and style I would really really really appreciate it!

    Thanks, Mel P

For now, this can get you started with a general idea of what some of the parade/"dress" uniforms looked like:

YouTube - 1945 Victory Parade in Color (1)

I say general as the footage is very poor on this You-Tube thing... However, the DVD is readily available thru Amazon I believe...

Also, here is an image of an over-decorated AIR FORCE private's mundir - postwar. To be infantry, simply pretend all the blue insignia and edgings shown here are raspberry coloured...

You also need to clarify your interpretation of a "Guards captain"...

    Private artillery

    Captain artillery

The differences in a branch is just a piping and insignia color.
Guards is just a guards badge

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Thank you so much for all of your help!
I have checked out the You Tube Videos, they were great, but Im not much of an expert on Military ranks etc!
In regards to 'Guard's Captain' the play just states the character is a Captain of the Guard in Intelligence.

I really appreciate everybody's images and help! Again Thank you!!!

Who is in the "intelligence branch" (the captain or the private?) and who is a correspondent (same)?

Marat - A Guard's Captain of the "intelligence branch"
Leonidik - Red Army Private - A war correspondent.
    Sorry for being unclear!

I believe that your man's ("Marat") mundir would look something like one of these two variations.

The double breasted mundirs seem to be more popular...

In any case, six sided shoulder-boards with cornflower-blue piping and stripes - five small stars.

However, I am still not certain if NKVD/NKGB "Intelligence" used gold or silver on the shoulder-board lace and collar/sleeve insignia...

I'll have to dig for that info as well as more info about your correspondent's insignia colors...

I think it 's a wrong word, intilligense- right word for the game must be reconnaisance officer- and that is the branch of service for each of other branches as arty, armor, infantry etc.
The rank of war correspondent is beginning from Starshina, but usually from Junior Lieutenant
