Isn't this patch, on the jacket's right sleeve, for the 14th Air Force?

That bullion patch is BEAUTIFUL! If you can get a name then it should be possible to confirm if he was a flying tiger. Nice group.

The US Army still allows wearing of your right shoulder patch from the unit you served in combat with. This is a great set of items. Please update us with the history if you can verfify it.

You would think Tuesday he should be open. I wonder if the LB and number represent his initials and a partilal service #. Or it could be something else and time will tell. But there is a match on the roster with those initials.
