Is this a 1918 pattern WW1 tunic

I am after a ww1 tunic this one is up for sale , just wondering if it ww1 or post ww1

1922 pattern i believe

Yes, if I remember correctly the khaki colored lining (rather than white) is the most obvious sign of it being 1922 pattern.

I agree with John and Douglas, it looks to be the post war version which continued to be issued until 1943 or 1944.

These were still made and issued well into the 1960's.

I have seen SD dated 1950's but not later. No.2 dress was introduced during the early 1960's so any further use must have been limited.

I've had 1960's dated examples myself so i'm positive. Usually small sizes probably for Junior Leaders etc.

That's the limited use I was thinking about. Possibly a few bands as well.

Its a pity when they replaced No.2 Dress recently with FAD they did not consider readopting 1922 Service Dress with non staybright badges and buttons, and a return to full size trade badges and stripes which were reduced in size by 2/3 in 1960 when No.2 dress was adopted. The British Army has never looked so smart since.

I attached a picture from an unknown source which shows a post-war junior leaders kit layout which may well date to the early 1960's.
