1945 Swedish M39 Greatcoat/ trench coat question

Article about: Dear all, I have a Swedish M39 Greatcoat, dated 1945. My question is regarding the front buttons. I have seen most coats are double breasted but this is single breasted with buttons on both

    Dear all,
    I have a Swedish M39 Greatcoat, dated 1945.
    My question is regarding the front buttons.
    I have seen most coats are double breasted but this is single breasted with buttons on both sides, so it can be buttoned either side.
    Is this normal?
    I’m afraid I know nothing of Scandinavian uniform.
