Will do!! (By the way, I would edit your 3 K's!)

I don't think finding the original owner is possible as it doesn't have any evidence left by him, i.e: his name, initials, hometown etc. Regardless, take it for what it is, a very nice period jacket from a division involved in "D-Day" among many other important battles.

I only wish he did the same with his uniforms, which only God knows where they are now.

My Uncle Charlie, C Co., 23rd, also landed on D-Day! One of the "lucky few" from the 2ID who landed on D-Day in a re inforced rifle squad tasked to protect the Engineers who were clearing the beach obstacles on Omaha. He was a BAR man, and on the front until his 3rd, count them, 3rd wound, suffered on September 14, 1944 during the fighting in Brest, sent him home. He was knocked named by his fellow squad members "The Heebie Geebie Greek on the BAR" because of the way he "bounced around" while firing his weapon on full auto in the prone position. We lost him a few years ago, and I miss him terribly. Jim G.
