Default 79th Infantry Division Combat Leader

Here is a named grouping that I received from my wife for Christmas. This group is named to Willard G Brobst of the 79th Infantry Division. A few interesting points to this grouping is that his Ike includes Green Combat Leader stripes on both arms, his Purple Heart ribbon includes an Oak Leaf Cluster for a second award, there are two War Department telegram notices to his mother alerting her to the fact of his two instances WIA and also his Purple Heart medal and Good Conduct medal.

I was pretty excited to received this grouping!

    Thank you!

What I also found that was pretty neat is that Mr. Brobst attached a piece of thread through the clutch fasteners on his CIB so that he would not lose them if one came off. I hadn't seen that before.

US ETO uniforms are my favorite. Veteran modifications are also some of the neatest things. They could be so creative. Again, great looking uniform.
