    Belt, Sanitary, ATS.

Not maker marked. According to the ATS scale of issue, two issued per woman. Described as "White double lightweight cotton fabric, later interlined with swansdown."

    LOL, "belt, stopper, conversation"

I for one have never seen one of these before, the things you girls did for king and country.

Here we have the ATS issue "Socks, Ankle". Faintly dated 1945. Shown in full in the bottom left pic.

There was also a version in the heavy woolen liesle material.

I have also shown the WRAC version, once again no difference between these and the wartime ATS pair. Much early WRAC pattern kit was the same as wartime.

    Cheers, Lez.

Well lads that concludes all you are going to see of my underwear today

What I would really like to add to my collection:

"Brassiere, ATS" : Peach coloured and the same item was also issued to the WAAF's. Only made up to 38 inch bust.

"Brassiere, tropical, ATS" : Lightweight ballon fabric: cotton, white.

"Corselettes, ATS" : For larger figures 40, 42, 44 inch bust: cotton bastiste peach colour, elastic side panels.

"Knickers, ATS" : Material khaki rayon locknit with kite gusset: glossy finish only: elimination of elastic at knee. (Nige showed a pair in his thread on his ATS group.)

    Cheers, Lez.
