Got this Australian Summer Weight khaki officers tunic recently and want to know more about it . (No other tags)

Guessing its WW2 ?

I agree with Ade.

It appears to be a private purchase KD tunic for a first lieutenant. This looks very similar to mine which is 1942 dated.

Have you carefully checked the inside of all pockets - sometimes there are hidden tags.

Missing a pip also unfortunately .

I say it is due to the fact the Queensland company 'Christison and burnett' did not only manufacture military clothing.
Of course, due to their social status, many officer tunics were private purchases from reputable companies. The only thing is all of these PP's that I have seen have had the officers name printed into the garment. It is in very good nick, has it been issued? Cheers.

P.S A matching pip should be quite easy to replace!

If the aussies were the same as the Brits, then all officer items were private purchase. Looks good and WWII seems right for it, or that period.

Its in very good condition , no stains or holes . If it was issued it was keep in good nic.
