    Default Black Watch Kilt: Pattern?

Hello everybody! I need the help of a real kilt expert: I have recently bought a heavyweight Black Watch kilt supposedly WW 2 (WD stamps show an R for 1939) that apparently has never been provided with straps and buckles, and is closed only by means of a button and button hole. The kilt is almost mint, and this would contradict a WW2 vintage, and I do not really know much about the evolution of kilt patterns: can anybody help? thank you in advance for your knowledge!

Try contacting the regiment. As you say it could be post war.

The service number would indicate a late WW2 enlistment, whilst buttons as fasteners on a kilt are not overly common they are not unseen, I’ve heard of this on military kilts before.
