    Brit/Rhodesia P37 Jacket with Liner

I have inherited my father-in-law's jacket and medals from WW2. Family politics being what they are, I did not get to question him at length before he passed but I know he was from what used to be Rhodesia. The medals all appear fine but the P37 jacket has a lining. It has Rhodesia on the arm and the unit insignia but the lining is throwing me. Every original jacket I can find online seems to be unlined so I am questioning it. I suppose considering the wealth that the white minority had it is possible he had it added but then I started to wonder if it was something he picked up after the war, perhaps to remind him of his service...
What should I be looking for to be sure it is period?
    Any pointers please?

I agree. Without pictures it's impossible to say anything meaningful about it. From the description, I can't even tell what kind of jacket you are talking about. I would guess you mean a 1937 Battledress Blouse? Many officers had their Battledress tailored (including adding linings), and even bought custom-made BDs (usually known as 'Superfine Pattern', for want of a better term).

Anyway, if you provide pictures, i'm sure we will be able to help you

I believe you should go to "Go Advanced" instead of posting a quick reply with the pictures. Whenever I post a picture with the quick reply, it only shows the attachment text and no image.
