I am undecided about this Canadian battle dress tunic if its a reproduction or not, it has the bar buttons and what looks like the correct stamp? But there is no date or Canadian mark, there is a stamp I don't recognize but hopefully somebody will. Thoughts anybody.
Nice example.I recently noticed that Captain Mainwaring from 'Dads Army' wears a Canadian BD.I pointed this out to my wife and she just gave me that 'yes dear' look.

I thought about mentioning it to my wife only yesterday, but decided not to. His is the late war type with tab and button neck closure in the one I noticed most recently. I have one of that type, February 45 dated.
Not sure when they changed from the hook and eye type to the tab and button closure, but sometime between 43 and early 45 I would assume then. Then to the button over type as posted above in 47.
I thought it was a 49 pattern, as the only difference between the two is the nomenclature and it has the earlier type inkstamp markings and is called a battledress blouses serge. If it has zigzag stitching behind the collar it would be a 47 pattern.
