    It is a post WWII Chief Personell mans Jacket.
    The difference between Wartime and post war coats is that WWII jackets have 8 buttons and post war have 6.
    He had 20 years in according to the 5 stripes on his sleeve. 4 years for each stripe.

    Steve my WW2 neighbor friend is from the Navy, he thought this might be a "custom" made jacket for the officer, I like the Chevron and the insignia on it myself!
