Article about: i am wondering if it means the date of this item on the label ? and is there somebody who can tell me what that shoulder patch is ? thanks Frenchy

    Hi Frenchy,
    The patch I am not familiar with but the label is simply a union label. 1912 is I suspect either the date the union was made or a lot or serial number. American uniforms almost always have a quarter master label inside one of the pockets with date and where it was made. Often they are washed out and no longer readable. What type of coat is this, can you send more pictures? My guess is that it is some type of school military uniform because of the book on the patch.

    A quick search on the internet and one of the most likely SIT schools in Stevens Institute of Technology and the school colors are the same as the patch.
