Hi guys a worn out pair of boots on Ebay are listed as 1944 Commando boots.
I think they have been re-soled. The sole is an Itshide Commando sole but I think they are Postwar as they are marked Commando "style" this would make them an expensive pair of worn out boots as they are currently around £75.

I am not saying that the boots are not original but I am sure the soles are not correct wartime.

I am not sure when they started marking them as "style". Anybody know ?

If they were original unmolested war dated "commando" boots i'd be fairly happy paying around £70, i'm pretty sure these are post war resoled as the correct original soles have 9 lugs/stars in the centre of the sole, the boots you have listed only have 6.

My 1953 dated pair of CWW with commando soles have the 9 lugs, 2 different sizes and soles are fully screwed on.

    These Ebay ones are stitched.

I would also be happy to pay £75 for unmolested boots in good condition.

Here is a thread from a few years ago when Bananamafia sold a pair of 1945 dated Commando boots.

A couple of pictures from the St Nazaire Raid.

All seem to show the 9 lugs and screwed on sole.

Here are the pictures from the Ebay sale so you can see the differences in the sole.

Now, they may be correct but I have seen no evidence to back it up although the design registration number appears to be the same. 839218
