Help to id naval officer cap cockade

A guy who i worked with found this naval officer cap cockade on a hat ribbon,while he was cleaning out his uncle house. He shown it to me but i have never seen one like it before ,any help with the id?

Sorry, not one I have seen before. Where was it found, UK, US, Europe etc???

Hi, Your cap device is likely to be either US Army Transport Service or US Mercantile Marine Engineer. I would say that it is a composite badge in that the propellor device appears to have been added probably over a different device. Not a particularly rare badge but nice none the less.
