I show the hat tallies on another thread(Navy flat hats) but thought I would show the whole group and tell this man's story. The muster rolls will tell the story. I know he enlisted in 1930 and retired in 1950. I'm not sure when he was on the Lexington. I really outta send for his records. But this is what I do know. In 1939 he was on the USS Pennsylvania later that year he transfer to the USS Arizona. In march of 1941 he transfer to US NAVY YARD in PEARL HARBOR. He was there when pearl was attack. Ken was a muscian 1st class and probably knew alot of the band members who lost there life that day. I can only imagine what was going thru his head that tragic day.
Ken made cpo during the war and think it may of been around 1942-1943. After he retire he became a notary for the city of Vallejo for a while. He is also buried there.
The group consist of his dress blues, hat tallies, cpo bullion muscian rate and service stripes. Cpo cuff links, ribbon bars, good conduct bars(wish I had the medal) and a notary seal, I have his device that the seal goes into not pictured. Also a pin from Vallejo and a lodge pin that he belong too.
