    i bought his for $40 at an antique store. i hope its authentic. i know its hell on wheels waht else the pin??? the 1??? i know the / is one year

    The branch insignia is Chemical Corps. The uniform is still currently used, so Vietnam era is appropriate. The patch is the 1st Armored Division, not the 2nd. The uniform itself carries the rank of Sergeant, and the owner had at least three years of service, signified by the single hash mark. The number on the label is simply a laundry mark.

    I would also say that the 1st Infantry Division patch was a combat patch, so Vietnam would still be appropriate.

    Dusty, I was in 65-68, back then it was known as Army Intelligence Service (AIS) Did my time in Berlin ASA. Same collar brass. John

    I was in 74-89. Augsburg and Kitzingen, Germany, three tours in Korea, Ft Bragg and Ft Meade (X2). Started out as Army Security Agency then changed to Inscom.

    I think the hash mark means 2 years because I had 12 years , so I should have 6 marks .
