RA officers SD tunic

Article about: Bought this one today and waiting for it to arrive so the sellers pics for now. It comes with the collar and tie. It has Kings crown buttons so is pre 1953 in theory and is probably WWII.

    It arrived and it looks fine though other than the Kings crown buttons I'm not sure how you date these, as obviously the shirt is post war IMO. There is no sign of the typical post war dress tunic labels so probably pre 53 as I thought, but when is not so clear.

    Can't complain for £10, as the dogs and buttons are worth that on their own, so a good deal I think.

    Comparing it with my 2 other SD tunics and the cut etc all looks the same.

    I was certain it was when I bought it but as it and the tie came with it for that price I was not bothered either way, but still good to have them as they display with it quite well.

    I realise you'll probably know the usual location of a dated tailors label, but just in case, have you looked in the inside pockets?

    I have looked but there is no sign of a label, which is a shame as it might have been named and I might have got a hit on it from the London Gazette.
