Newbie here
The photos are of one of 2 military mess jackets that I bought recently at my local auction house. Can anyone help identify it and the badges that are on one sleeve and do the badges match the period for when the jacket was made. It came with a scarlet waistcoat. Both the jacket and waistcoat have the same buttons though I am not sure the photo is that clear for them. The badges seem to be sewn in metal wire. If you need more photos then I can add them. I think the buttons are 9th/12th Lancers

I think you answered your own question. The mess dress jacket is of the design and colour for the Lancers. It appears to have a sleeve badge with the queens crown for the rank of WO1
