The rarely seen 'Coats Storm Waterproof' belonging to the Royal Observer Corp. Dated 1944 it is blanket lined and very heavy. I don't know what the waterprooofing would have been (probably linseed oil or similar) but it has obviously deteriorated over time and left the marks on the outside of the coat. The cuffs are also heavily waterproofed.
