Article about: I was just browsing about and saw a camo jacket up for sale. The seller picked it with some Vietnam gear, but neither him nor I know for sure of it's origin. I would rule this one as made fo

This type of 'repro' camouflage was used in the 1960's and 70's for
hunting clothing. It looks as though the jacket was made for that
purpose - the helmet cover shown is of the same type of
material as well.........

Ah, thanks! It was the helmet cover that stumped me; I don't know many who go out hunting in helmets meant for war.

I used to stumble onto this type of thing in second-hand thrift shops.
Most of the time they were separates - jacket and pants, but I've
also seen coveralls. Someone has made up the helmet cover
as original Mitchell covers are now quite expensive.........

Probably civilian manufactured. I bought one myself in the 1970's and I believe the pattern is described as "Duckhunter". That said, I've seen photos of irregular tribal forces troops in Laos and Vietnam trained by the CIA, who wore this camouflage tunic and trousers in 1960's.
