Unknown Frock

Hello, I picked up two coats awhile back, I don't know if they are allied or not, but the one is covered in American buttons. Any help on who they belonged to would be appreciated. Thank you!

The second frock has been cut and altered, and has been stripped of its buttons, as are many interesting uniforms.

The SC is for South Carolina...This appears to be a State Militia coat....

Correct me if I am reading this wrong, but the coat you show has a mixture of different US buttons on it?

If the buttons are real , they are worth money alone . But it's strange to have such a variety on one item .

Yes the coat has about three different state buttons, as well as navy, artillery, and Excelsior buttons in the 5th picture, the second one was stripped, but also had a variety of buttons, and i believe that most are real.
