    Got this shirt at a flea market. I think it is WWII US wool service shirt. But, I've never seen the snaps on a wool shirt sleeves like this shirt has. Anyone have any ideas or know why? I suspect it has something to do with shoulder patches, but that's just a guess. Thanks for the help!

    Id go with a patch too.
    Snaps could be added years after the shirt was made, so need not be for an official patch of course.

    This was common practice so that insignia could be removed for laundering.........

    in wwii, they sewd their patches on. i suspect that it was put on a few decades later, for patches
