The tunic will be dated and named in the inside left shoulder if it is WWII.
WW II marine tunics had a cotton lining as opposed to a shiny synthetic lining in later tunics.

Looks like Vietnam era, the medal does not look like it belong. It is a restrike of a China Relief Medal from 1900, not sure why it is with the uniform
The crossed rifles on the chevron did not come about until the 60's. Post WW2

Hi DocRoe, The last photo is an absolute give away for post War, the garment has a NATO Codification Number commencing 8405, This is the NATO universal section code for uniform clothing and is usually but not always followed by a country of origin code, either 00 or 01 for the US.
