Default WRAC BD Blouse and skirt

Hiya, the WRAC evolved from the wartime ATS and was formed in 1949. I myself became a member of it in the 1980's.

Prior to the introduction of the new 1951 pattern BD blouse, the old wartime patterns were still worn.

The new blouse featured an open collar design. But the basic design went back to the early wartime ATS BD, with pleated breast pockets and a fly front.

The blouse is named and numbered to "Kissack W447863"..

This example is a very late issue being dated 1965.

    Cheers, Lez.

    Here is the skirt.

Late in the war in 1944, the ATS were authorised to wear the skirt with BD but only when serving overseas.

The skirt was worn with BD by the WRAC.

Note again the very late production date.

Just found another WRAC 1951 BD pattern skirt I forgot I had!

The back has two buttons so it can be fastened to the BD Blouse.

Again a late 1965 dated example made by "J Compton, Sons & Webb Ltd".

Compare to the wartime pattern skirt as seen here:
