ww2 field tunic American? Canadian?..Australian ?

Article about: Sorry No photos, Defiantly ww2 tunic, date written on inside. Tunic Buttons show a crest with a small eagle above it, and two ladies standing on either side of the crest ( one is justice) ?

    Defiantly ww2 tunic, date written on inside.

    Tunic Buttons show a crest with a small eagle above it, and two ladies standing on either side of the crest ( one is justice) ?

    Additionally there is a unit badge ? sown on to each lapel ? At the bottom it shows a rising sun and the words “on guard” underneath , 17th NYG in the centre , and a 3 master sailing ship at the top ??

    Its got me vamboosalled !!

    Sounds like a US New York National Guard uniform? But pics are needed.
